steps of female hair transplant surgery

A female hair transplant  procedure includes the following steps:

Step 1- Anesthesia:

Local anesthesia is applied to the donor area and the recipient area.

Step 2- Follicle extraction:

Hair follicles are extracted from the donor area, which is usually the lower back of the head or the sides of the head, using one of two techniques: FUE or FUT.

In the FUE technique, the surgeon extracts hair follicles individually, one by one, resulting in small dot-shaped scars on the lower back of the head and on both sides of the head.

In the FUT technique, the surgeon removes a strip of scalp containing hair follicles and sutures the area where the grafts were taken, resulting in a linear scar in the lower back of the head. The surgeon covers this scar with the rest of the hair.

Step 3- Follicle Preparation:

The extracted follicles are then prepared under a microscope, ensuring they are in optimal condition for transplantation.

Step 4- Transplantation:

In the FUE technique, grafts are implanted in the scalp using a puncturing tool. In the FUT technique, grafts are implanted in the scalp through small incisions.

A female hair transplant procedure typically addresses several key areas of hair loss. The most common regions include the crown, where thinning often begins, and the frontal hairline, which can recede over time. Additionally, women may seek treatment for areas around the temples and the part line, which are prone to widening.

Female hair transplantation is generally considered a permanent solution for hair loss. The procedure involves relocating healthy hair follicles from a donor area, typically at the back of the scalp, to areas experiencing thinning or baldness. Once transplanted, these follicles retain their natural growth cycle and can grow hair for a lifetime.

In a female hair transplant, the extraction of hair typically begins with a thorough consultation to assess the patient’s individual needs and hair loss pattern. The most common techniques used for extraction are Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) and Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT). In FUE, small circular incisions are made around individual hair follicles in the donor area, allowing them to be gently removed with specialized tools. Alternatively, FUT involves extracting a strip of scalp from the donor area, which is then dissected into individual follicular units for transplantation.

Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) is a popular method for harvesting hair follicles from the scalp. The procedure begins with the clinician shaving the donor area, typically at the back of the head, to gain better access to individual hair follicles. Using a specialized punch tool, the clinician carefully makes small circular incisions around each follicle. The follicles are then gently extracted using forceps, taking care to minimize trauma to the surrounding tissue.

The Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT) technique involves a surgical procedure to extract hair follicles. During this method, a strip of skin containing hair follicles is removed from the donor area, typically the back of the scalp. Once the strip is harvested, it is divided into smaller units, each containing one to four follicles. These units are then meticulously prepared for transplantation into the thinning or balding areas of the scalp.
